Amir Tomashov

BIO

Born in Afula, Israel in 1978, Tomashov currently lives and works in his home town Afula.  He received his B.Arch. with honors from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, Technion Institute of Technology.

Amir Tomashov seduces the spectator by using everyday materials to create fictional scenes. Tomashov uses various media (sketch, draft, collage, relief, model, installation, painting and mixed media) and offers a symbolic and instant comparison between the process of building and destruction.

Tomashov has been the recipient of various prizes and awards ; Arieh and Eldar Sharon Award for Creative Students; First prize, “Seeds of Israeli Architecture”, David Azrieli Award; Reiskin Award for academic achievements and architectural design, Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology; Photography Award, Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, Technion-ITT.
He has previously exhibited at Volta Basel art fair, Alfred Institute for Art & Culture, Tel Aviv, Schema Projects, New York, Israeli pavilion at Expo in Yeosoo, Korea, The Jerusalem Artists House, Jerusalem, Raw Art Gallery, Tel-Aviv, ArtPort Gallery, Tel Aviv, and Fresh Paint art fair.
